The Lonely Rainbow: The Power of Storytelling

We have the same bedtime routine almost every night. After dinner and some play time we do the usual bath, brushing of teeth, giving bedtime kisses, and turning off the lights for our final part of bedtime, story time. When Sofia was younger we would read a few of her favorite books and sing a few songs until she drifted off. As she got older, the need for complete darkness in the room increased so, we began to tell her the popular bedtime stories that one always tells. Then one day she asked if I could tell her a story of a blue horse. I knew of no such story so, I made it up.

She loved it.

Weekend Vacation

Last week the kids and I went on a weekend vacation and not only did we survived but we had a great time!

My sister had a trip planned for several weeks and during one of our visits she mentioned it and I decided to tag along. In preparation for the trip, I knew I would take Remi with me. Taking him sounded easier than trying to figure out milk supply for the few days I’d be gone. And then I started thinking about Sofia and the fun she would have…(Now if you have met me or seen my Instagram feed you know that I love spending time with my kids and I enjoy their company) so, I decided Sofia had to go as well!
